Have to get back to it, but time for a quick observation -- this morning, in its increasing desperation to say new things about John Paul II, CNN ran a feature on his use of new communications technologies... and observed that he was the first pope to have a website. Ah... yeah. Because the web was, you know, invented during his papacy. So it would have been hard for, say, John XXIII or St. Peter to be, you know, competitive in that particular sweepstakes.
Someday, a future pope will be the first to have hyperdrive. And I guess that'll make his immediate predecessor -- not to mention old John Paul II -- look like he was a little behind the curve...
Note to CNN -- please relax. The story is big, and it's taking care of itself. No need for strain. We're with you. Breathe. Take your time.
