Offline This Week
Well, I'd hoped to be able to turn to Lakoff this week, along with the Democratic Party's fatal attraction to branding. Unfortunately, I've run headfirst into the reality principle... this time in the form of the fire in my father's apartment. All life forms (my father, two cats) are doing fine, and the damage -- while memorable -- is largely cosmetic. But there's a fair amount of work to do to put the house (literally) in order. So I won't be around for the next couple of days -- punditry, and photography, both need to take a back seat to my occasional role as officer in charge of the aftermath. Will try to be back on the surface later this week or early next. Thanks for your patience... and if you're tempted to buy into framing -- don't. Just don't.
Later.
I was just introduced to your blog by a friend. Can you give me a quick reason for your comment about the Democratic Party's "fatal attraction to branding"?

Good question -- for an answer, have a look at my May 1 post.
